What I’ve been up to! May 10, 2010

Since I have not written in a few days I am going to do a quick update! Last Wednesday night my Fine Arts team had the wonderful opportunity of performing for District Council in Orlando. It was fun besides my battle wound. Since the stage was rather small, at times a few of us would bump into each other. As a result I have a huge black bruise on my arm…day 6 and it is finally getting better

Now I am going to fast forward to this past weekend! Friday night Marcos and I ate at Crisper’s, so it was a chill night. Then, Saturday and Sunday I worked. My friend Cassie got me a job at a local restaraunt called Zohra’s. She trained me Saturday night to be a hostess for Sunday, which was Mother’s Day. This is the first job I have had and overall it went well. I work 6 hours Saturday and 10 1/2 hours on Sunday. Soo…money for me! Finally! After I got off work I went to my grandmother’s house for my cousin’s 18th birthday party. It’s always nice to get together with the family! Overall I had a pretty great weekend.

And as far as today goes…well, it’s Monday. I think I mentioned previously how I feel about Monday’s. Blah. I am praying that today goes by fast and painless. I have a chorus concert tonight so hopefully that goes well and then I can go home and SLEEP!

Soo this past weekend was interesting! Friday and Saturday were pretty chill days and I worked on homework….yes, I know, how thrilling. Then Sunday came and that livened thigs up a bit. I woke up to my grandpa banging his cane on the ground yelling for help, so he is currently in the ER. Prayers would be greatly appreciated! On top of that I planned a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend that night so all of my family went to my aunts house and Marcos was pleasantly surprised. It stinks that I am at school today though because I despise Monday’s. However, today will be awesome even though it is a Monday! Today is my boyfriend’s birthday and it is our 10 month anniversary as well! Today pretty much makes up for the blah weekend.  Plus, my Dad and Marcos are coming to have lunch with me today at school. It will make school a little less sucky, so I’m pretty excited Well, that’s all that is going on right now. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Fine Arts Competition! April 26, 2010

This weekend I attended a Fine Arts competition with my church. My team is called Let It Rain and there are 10 people on my team! We performed a large human video. For people who do not know what this is, it is simply acting out scences or Bible scenes to a song. No props can be used and no one can speak. However, you can have narration in your soundtrack. Friday night we performed and we did amazing!! Later that night we found out we got a call back and we performed again Saturday morning. That afternoon at the awards ceremony we won 3rd place in the state and we advanced to nationals! So, this coming August we will be going to Detroit for National 2010! I am so stoked!!!

Here comes the sun! April 21, 2010

I wish my body was like a rechargable battery. Then my body could shut down when I need a break and recharge itself.  This past week has been absolutely chaotic!  Can you say homework overload? Maybe this seems trivial to some people, but this week I have had 4 projects due and it’s only Wednesday. Not to mention my FLVS class. Plus, teachers seem to think that it’s cool to assign homework on top of projects….is that even legal?! The point in venting is to give some words of wisdom to future seniors…DON”T PROCRASTINATE and LEARN TIME MANAGEMENT! That’s all there is to it. I may complain every now and then, but I really am enjoying my senior year! And to make it even better my countdown for graduation has decreased to only 25 days left! Thankfully my Fine Arts competition is this weekend so I leave for Orlando tomorrow to compete! Can’t wait to get away this weekend! And, tonight all of the Fine Arts teams perform at church so I have a fun rest of the week to look forward to!  Well, that’s it for now but I’ll blog Sunday to update on how the competition went.  These are bands that I listen to every day. Every morning I listen to Tiesto, ATB, or Cobra Starship on the way to school. Tiesto is my favorite because I find his music very relaxing…he is one of the best dj’s out there! I listen to John Mayer, Copeland, Coldplay, Tenth Avenue North, Mutemath, The Beatles, Anberlin, Calvin Harris, and Lifehouse throughout the day. I prefer to listen to this mix when I have a task to accomplish such as homework. Then, I listen to Hillsong United before I catch my ZzZ’s for the night!
